Maps Data API - Data Liberation

The Maps Data API is now deprecated (see announcement) and will no longer be available after January 31st 2011. During the deprecation period all data stored by the Maps Data API will continue to be accessible through existing means by application developers. This site is designed to make it easy for anyone to export their own data without writing any code.

Data stored using the Maps Data API is still available using the KML download link ("View in Google Earth") for the related My Maps map. However retrieving KML via the KML download link is limited to a maximum of 1,000 features and 5MB, and does not include any additional structured data beyond that shown in My Maps.

This site is designed to allow you to get your own data out easily by providing you with two different options:

  1. Direct KML Download Link (with the same limitations noted above)
  2. Transfer to Fusion Tables

For additional details, please see the FAQ.

If you have questions about how to retrieve existing data during the deprecation period we're happy to answer questions at the Maps Data API Forum. Alternatively, to begin liberating your data using this tool, you may now Migrate your Maps Data.
